Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of the InkReef platform and all related services (the "Service"). This AUP is part of and supplements the Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP.
1. Prohibited Content
You may not upload, store, transmit, or distribute content through the Service that:
- Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
- Infringes on the intellectual property rights of any third party, including copyright, trademark, patent, or trade secret rights.
- Contains personally identifiable information of individuals without their consent.
- Promotes discrimination, hatred, or violence against any individual or group.
- Contains malware, viruses, trojans, worms, or any other malicious code.
- Is designed to deceive, defraud, or mislead others.
- Violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
2. Prohibited Activities
You may not engage in the following activities when using the Service:
2.1 Security Violations
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or systems connected to the Service.
- Circumventing, disabling, or interfering with security features or access controls.
- Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the Service without written authorization.
- Intercepting or monitoring data or traffic on the Service that is not intended for you.
2.2 System Abuse
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise attempting to derive the source code of the Service.
- Scraping, crawling, or using automated tools to access the Service beyond published API rate limits.
- Overloading the Service infrastructure through excessive API calls, large file uploads, or denial-of-service activities.
- Using the Service in a manner that degrades performance for other users.
2.3 Account Abuse
- Sharing account credentials with unauthorized individuals.
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits, bans, or restrictions.
- Impersonating another person, business, or entity.
- Misrepresenting your affiliation with any person or entity.
2.4 Communication Abuse
- Sending unsolicited commercial messages (spam) through the email or SMS features.
- Sending communications to recipients who have not opted in or have opted out.
- Using deceptive subject lines or headers in email communications.
- Violating the CAN-SPAM Act, TCPA, or equivalent anti-spam legislation in your jurisdiction.
3. API and Integration Usage
- API access is subject to rate limits as defined in your subscription plan.
- API keys are confidential and must not be shared publicly or embedded in client-side code.
- Automated access must respect rate limits and include proper error handling with exponential backoff.
- Webhook endpoints must respond within 30 seconds and handle retries gracefully.
4. Data Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of all data you upload to the Service.
- You are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from your customers before storing their personal information on the Platform.
- You must comply with all applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) in your use of the Service.
- You must not use the Service to collect or store sensitive personal data (health records, government IDs, financial account numbers) unless explicitly supported by the Platform.
5. Enforcement
InkReef reserves the right to investigate and take action against violations of this AUP, including:
5.1 Graduated Response
- Warning: For first-time or minor violations, InkReef will issue a written warning via email, specifying the violation and required corrective action.
- Temporary Suspension: For repeated violations or serious breaches, InkReef may temporarily suspend access to the Service. You will be notified of the suspension, the reason, and the steps required for reinstatement.
- Account Termination: For severe, repeated, or unresolved violations, InkReef may permanently terminate your account. You will be given 30 days' notice to export your data before termination, except in cases of illegal activity or imminent security threat.
5.2 Immediate Action
InkReef may take immediate action without prior warning in cases of:
- Illegal activity or content
- Active security threats or ongoing attacks
- Activities that endanger other users or the integrity of the Service
- Court orders, law enforcement requests, or legal requirements
6. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of a violation of this AUP, please report it to [email protected]. Include as much detail as possible, including the nature of the violation, relevant URLs or account information, and any supporting evidence.
7. Changes to This Policy
InkReef may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
